22nd June - Kings Forest Ride (Highland Pony Enthusiasts Club West Anglia Area)
Meet on fire route 203 off the B1106 south of Elveden, Norfolk, Ride to start @ 10.00am. HPEC - £7 , Non HPEC - £10, Proceeds will be for the HPEC WA area funds.This ride is open to members and non-members with a choice of a short/slow 7 mile route and a longer/faster 11 mile route. (Distances are approximate). The tracks are entirely off and well away from roads and the only potential hazards would be people walking dogs and bird twitchers! The faster route has been planned so that much of the riding is done on soft grassy tracks or sand, with long straight stretches for steady canter pulls on gradual hills. Even the shorter route has plenty of opportunities for trot work and some cantering. All tracks must be followed due to bird nesting season.
All riders will have to show proof of insurance on the day and an item of hi-viz clothing is compulsory but not provided. A disclaimer will need to be signed before you ride. Each pony will be issued on the day with a tag to attach to the D ring on the saddle for information in the event of an emergency. Snacks and cold drinks will be provided by the WA HPEC committee for a small fee.
